Men Who Cook Event benefitting the Fresno Art Museum
Friday June 4th, 2010 the 13th Annual Men Who Cook event is coming to the Fresno Art Museum. From 6pm to 9pm come and sample the wonderful food and enjoy the music while you wander through the exhibits. This event is $20 per person. Proceeds will benefit the museum and its education programs. Fresno's museums have really suffered financially during the recession, this event is an affordable way of supporting the humanities in our city. For more information check out the FAM website HERE.

Fresno State Farm Market also is a wonderful produce store,
Mon-Fri 8am-7pm

Sun 11am-5pm
If you know of any others, let me know. Be careful some places appear to be farmer's markets, however their produce is imported and defeats the whole purpose of fresh and local.

Riverdale Spring Festival and FREE Ice Cream
On May 1st, the town of Riverdale south of Fresno will be having it's annual Spring Festival, parade, and rodeo. After the parade, the towns people go to a local park and enjoy ice cream and milkshakes at booths provided by local dairies for free! I've heard that you are even welcome to seconds. Sounds like something you don't want to miss! Riverdale is located about 40 minutes south of Fresno. Take 41 South, past Caruthers. The freeway will become Camden St. Turn west of Whitney Ave and drive about 3 miles and you're there! The parade is held on the main road. For more information click HERE.

Pregnancy and Posting
I apologize for not posting the last month or so. I am expecting my third child and find that the demands of my family supersede that of the blog. I may be posting here and there it really depends on how I feel. Remember there are many lovely frugal blogs out there. I will try to bring up California's Central Valley events when I have the time. Lots of love, Sarah

Sears KidVantage
I just learned about Sears' KidVantage program. Sears offers a club that allows you to replace infant/childrens' clothing and infant/children's shoes that wear out before they outgrow that size, for free. So, if you have some rough and tumble youngsters who play a bit harder on their clothes here's your solution! Try out the Wear Out Warranty You must sign up for the club in store, and when you spend $100 in children's clothing, you receive a 15% off coupon.
