Trout Fest May 12th in Friant FREE


 


Trout Fest May 12th 10:00-3:00 PM the San Joaquin Fish Hatchery located in Friant.


"A free educational event where people can engage in activities that focus on proper fishing techniques, how to clean and cook a fish, and the role of the hatchery system. Examples of activities offered include casting and rigging stations, fly-fishing and basic fishing clinics, and various art activities.
Children under the age of 16 will be able to try their hand at catching a trout. Folks age 16 and over can participate in the many hands-on activity stations as well. All ages are invited." (description from Zvents)

Bring some change (admission is always free) so you can feed the Rainbow Trout and see the different stages of their development. It's fun to take the kids and walk around. This facility is also near the San Joaquin River Parkway.

East of Highway 41 at Friant. From Friant Road, turn west onto Flemming Road, follow into hatchery. Located one mile below Lake Millerton Dam, about 12 miles north of Fresno.
